Job summary
An exciting post has become available within the Back Office
The main responsibilities will be to review, action, summarise and read code relevant information from patients clinical letters
Post holder should have strong IT skills and good working knowledge of all software systems within the practice. Strong background in clinical coding and/or medical terminology certificate.

Job responsibilities
This is a 37.5 hours full time, permanent role.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Code & file all incoming electronic post via docman & action in the same manner as paper post
Code all incoming post in regards to QOF and contact
Code or free text the clinical information on to the patient record
Deal with queries relating to coding
Identify relevant clinical information contained in patient correspondence
Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history.
Read coding the information into the practice clinical system
Filing and retrieving paperwork
Follow practice protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality care is provided to our patients
Culling and sorting patient records and letters in preparation for summarising
Sort and date stamp all incoming patient-related mail. Scan patient-related documents onto their medical record using read codes as agreed by the clinical team
Add any additional information about the source of the document
Forward any actionable or informative the documents to the doctor or nurse who initiated the referral or who is most appropriate to receive the information
Ensure incoming letters are scanned onto the patient record within a 24/48-hour timescale
