Job Description

- Prepares comprehensive background investigation reports detailing the results of completed background investigations.
- Coordinates the application process for all applicants. Explains application process to potential applicants. Receives all application materials for each applicant to review for completeness and suitability. Writes memorandums of disqualification and communicates causes for rejection to disqualified applicants. Interacts with applicants to schedule testing.
- Locates and reviews information regarding criminal history, police reports, school transcripts, credit reports, driving records, and other documentation available regarding applicant's history. Handles complex, sensitive, and confidential information relative to human resources and employee relations issues. Conducts thorough and complete background investigations on lateral applicants.
- Conducts monthly and weekly work force allocation analysis in addition to recruiting analysis from other agencies and recruiting analysis trends from around the country. Assists accreditation with analytics required by CALEA.
- Prepares conditional and formal job offers for employment, confirms appointments and start dates. Enters new hires into Neo Gov and coordinates the hiring process with Human Resources.
- Administers lie detection tests to include Converus Eye Detect-Lie Detection, polygraph and voice analysis.
- Attends meetings, training, workshops, and recruitment events as directed.
- Reviews standards and procedures as needed; keeps current on applicable federal and state laws.
- Informs other law enforcement agencies of the past or current status of mutual applicants.
- Acts as a main point of contact between our partners such as Converus, FMRT, FTCC and AOC. Compiles all necessary documents per CJ standards to certify officers (both in BLET and laterals).
Under immediate supervision, performs background investigations on potential department employees.Education
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED and experience with law enforcement work.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Investigative and interview skills, NC General Statutes, Labor Laws as related to hiring, Background Investigation procedures, Knowledge of resources available for conducting background investigations, Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act. Computer, typewriter, tape recorder, e-mail, voicemail. Must be able to communicate orally and written with good concise English skills.

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally requires standing and walking; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work is in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).About the company
