- Conducts a thorough and complete review of background check results according to company policies, applicable laws, regulations, and procedural requirements.
- Obtains, researches, investigates, and reviews data from various sources and information systems and prepares reports and written summaries of findings for the BICM and Global Investigations and Safety leadership with recommendations regarding future employment status.
- Provides recommendations and assistance to managers and partners on the research and results to ensure consistency and collaboration when adjudicating any adverse action in compliance with relevant policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Submits “pre” and “post” adverse action documents and ensure field compliance through tracking and follow up to ensure centralized background check process is executed at all levels.
- Assists in investigations and the Global Travel Security Services Program to support Global Investigations and Safety, the Loss Prevention field Organization or other internal and/or external stakeholders when needed.
- Serves as backup to other Global Investigations and Safety functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal experience and/or extensive online research/investigative experience.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Superior organizational skills.

Assists the Background Investigations Compliance Manager (BICM) to ensure TJX’s compliance with federal and state background screening/investigation employment and labor laws, policies, and regulations. Conducts investigations and research, gathers data, analyzes facts and helps in developing recommendations for action for Associates with adverse background check results to ensure the highest level of execution on “pre” and “post” adverse action employment screening. Provides assistance in the adjudication and notification processes and ensures timely execution and compliance by the store teams and HR partners.
