- Ensure that you are following all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.
- Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and that the product specifications are being adhered to.
- Assist with training and cross-training when necessary.
- Assist with providing breaks rotations as directed and lunches to employees, when necessary.
- Continuously improve on learning all products and requirements to make them properly.
- Ensure that all areas of responsibility are kept as clean as possible during the run and at the conclusion of the run, that all equipment, raw materials, and waste are placed in their proper locations.
- Monitor finished product quality with a focus on eliminating cripples and increasing the throughput of the production and packaging department.
- Actively communicates with other Bakery team members and supervisors to identify and resolve challenges while improving operational efficiencies.
- Performs routine safety checks to ensure workspace is free from potential safety risks while working with overall bakery team to promote a safe workplace environment.
- High school diploma
- 1 yr or more experience in a food manufacturing or related environment with food processing/packaging equipment.
- High Mechanical Aptitude as demonstrated through prior work experience.
- Basic troubleshooting skills as demonstrated through prior work experience.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Company Safety policies.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups as a team.
- The ability to take direction from management.
- Effective communications skills
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
- Ability to read and understand machine manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and production orders.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to stand for 10 hours per shift
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50lbs frequently throughout the day
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- 2+ yr experience as an equipment operator working with high speed or complex production/packaging machinery.
- Experience with autonomous maintenance
- Demonstrated Leadership skills
Description
Bakery Operator - Donut Production (Frying/Mixing)
2nd Shift: 1pm - 1130pm, (4 days/10 hour shifts)
The Bakery Operator is responsible for running various pieces of equipment in production and packaging. The Bakery The operator reports to the Operations Supervisor and coordinates a team of Bakery associates used to support the production line. The Bakery Operator will assist with but not limited to running any piece of equipment or machine associated with production and packaging. The incumbent will be trained by a subject matter expert per the work instructions and be expected to run the equipment proficiently. The . Operator will not be proficient on all equipment associated with packaging/production but will be on select equipment and machinery; will be expected to follow all specifications per our specification sheets; will be expected to manage the proper weights, settings, packaging, quality, speeds, labels, ingredients, and alert Management if there are any issues compromising product quality. The Operator will not run the equipment if the equipment is not deemed as safe and will alert Management for any Safety related issues.
