Drag, rake, and chalk dirt infields for youth baseball and softball programs.
Perform a variety of sports field maintenance tasks including Mowing, edging, topdressing, aerating, fertilizing, and irrigation repair.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
Assist with running weekend tournaments as needed.
Clean restrooms and pick up debris.
Operate trucks, four wheelers, or small tractors.
Assist in field layout and painting.
Assist other crew members as needed/directed and perform other related work as required.
Sufficient knowledge, training, and/or experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the job.
Valid, lawful driver license.

These are laborer positions needed seasonally by the Parks Maintenance Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department.

What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour (depending upon skill level and experience). Payment will be direct deposit.

What is the schedule?
Duration of Positions is approximately March 1 through November 1, 2025. Schedule varies Monday through Sunday and will be determined by supervisor. Must be flexible to work some weekends with tournaments, special events, or preventative maintenance, as directed.
What are the physical/environmental factors?
This work requires strenuous physical labor; walking; bending; reaching; lifting (up to 70 lbs.); and exposure to adverse weather conditions and some pesticides. Applicants must have sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the work.
What is the selection process?
This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
