Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the newly restructured clinical delivery group in University Hospital Birmingham and get involved in healthcare. The post holder will play an important role within the wider Admin Team to provide efficient and comprehensive administration support to general managers and offer secretarial support to the Team. This position is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise own and other's workload. The post holder is expected to be self-initiated, work effectively and flexibly as part of a team to meet the needs of the service, alongside good organisation skills and ability to multitask. With advanced IT skills with good understanding of Microsoft packages, you are expected to be able to use different software and take on new applications as required.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of a team providing comprehensive Administration support to non-clinical services. Working in conjunction with colleagues, service users and internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will directly contribute to the efficient running of the service, ensuring that a seamless approach to the general managers and colleagues requiring support.
Applicants should hold a qualification in Business Administration NVQ level 3 or have equivalent experience in an administrative environment. The post holder will be undertaking general administrative support such as minute taking, setting up meetings, booking meeting rooms, printing, copying and scanning non- confidential and confidential documents, answering queries via email or telephone. The post holder is expected to provide others a point of contact. The essential skills and qualities we are looking for include the following: Have great communication skills, the ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, efficiency to organise, ambitious and pro-active; to use initiatives when problem solving and to have great time management skills. They should be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheets. Experience in the use of databases is desirable.
The ability to prioritise and self-manage their workload is essential. An excellent telephone manner to deal with both staff and external enquiries is important at all times.
