Main duties of the job
Co-ordinate the management of patients attending daily outpatient clinics referring to qualified nurses where indicated and in liaison with the administrative and clerical staff.
Perform phlebotomy on patients attending the outpatient department, ensuring a minimal level of pain and discomfort to the patients undergoing the procedure.
Be familiar and accurate in the sorting, preparation and transportation of blood samples to both internal and external laboratories.
Perform measuring, testing, and collating of urine results for patients requiring such at their outpatient visit. This includes highlighting any major anomalies to the nephrologists and senior nurse in charge of the unit that day.
Help prepare in advance all necessary paperwork and equipment for each patient attending clinic. Assist Nursing Staff prepare request form during Monthly Bloods.
