      Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the daily operations of the 198 BC Liquor Stores. The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business, creates systems and processes, and establishes daily retail procedures to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB’s core values of service, relationships and results.       About this role:

      Reporting to the Director Marketing, the Senior Manager E-commerce & Digital is responsible for the digital strategy and properties for BC Liquor Stores and the execution of campaigns and initiatives such as web/mobile development and content management, email and CRM campaigns and management, social media, and search engine optimization (SEO). Working closely with the Senior Manager Marketing & Advertising, the Senior Manager Web & Digital also collaborates on digital ad content development and ensures that the customer journey is optimized, and advertising is linked appropriately to the digital channels (web, social media etc.).

      This position is responsible to develop and launch the BC Liquor Stores’ ecommerce site, oversee site content, and purchase flow, and will be responsible for optimizing the user experience by leveraging analytical tools and insights as well as industry trends working with the ecommerce team. This position will have dual responsibility for driving offline (in-store) traffic and sales via relevant content on digital properties and driving online (ecommerce) revenues for BC Liquor Stores through digital, SEO/SEM and conversion strategies.

      Successful candidates may be required to work outside regular business hours to meet deadlines, as required.

      Candidates must have the ability to travel regularly within the Lower Mainland and occasionally travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia.

      Position requirements:

      Education and Experience:

      The following equivalencies will be considered:

      Diploma or degree in marketing or a related field, combined with a minimum of 3 years recent related experience*

      OR

      Certificate in marketing or a related field, with minimum of 5 years recent related experience*.

      *Recent, related experience (within the last 7 years) in North American marketing industry must include:

      • Leading and managing web/mobile apps, digital marketing (for example: SEO/SEM, paid programmatic), and/or CRM database and messaging.
      • Developing digital strategy and/or digital advertising (for example: programmatic, blogs, SEM, social media etc.) to drive ecommerce acquisitions, leads, click-throughs and conversions.
      • Experience in e-commerce and creating strategies to optimize sales performance online and in-store.
      • Experience with analytical tools, reporting and email marketing programs.
      • Managing a team of direct reports.

      Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience:

      • Extensive experience** in managing e-commerce, digital marketing, and a team of direct reports.
      • Experience working with internal IT teams and/or web vendors to enhance website and other digital properties.
      • Experience in developing a social media strategy and yearly plan and growth strategies.
      • Experience dealing with sensitive customer issues and complaints online.
      • Experience with CRM software and database management and managing loyalty and retention programs.
      • Experience in a large and/or geographically distributed multi-unit retail organization.

      **Extensive experience is defined as 3 years or more experience in the North American marketing industry.
