- GCSE or equivalent to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths & English
- NVQ 3 or a validated equivalent qualification plus knowledge of specific patient conditions, forms of therapy, acquired through training and /or from significant relevant experience working as a Band 3 Therapy support worker.
- In-depth / broad understanding of Physiotherapy and the effect of illness and disability on function
- Experience working within therapies or with a therapist team
- Can demonstrate knowledge of assessment skills and intervention skills to complete patient follow up for the relevant clinical area, guided by registered clinician when appropriate
- Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of providing and receiving complex sensitive information
- Experience of managing / prioritising own case load / workload, using initiative
- Competent in a range of clinical skills and practices relevant to the scope of practice required
- Experience in delegating duties to others as appropriate
- Understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
- Awareness of health and safety issues
- Has knowledge in relation to the parameters and scope of practice in which the post holder should work and when to seek advice and support/ escalate of others for expert help and advice
- Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.
- Good IT skills ability to record information electronically
- Ability to explain the requirement to balance clinical caseload
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of health care professionals, on a variety of complex and sensitive issues which require persuasive and empathetic skills
- Ability to work under pressure across competing priorities, Ability to deal with non- routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
- Ability to participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues
- Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting
- Dexterity, coordination and sensory skills for therapy activities
- Willingness to work a range of shift patterns to cover service requirements.
- Able to work across all Trust sites and in the community as required
- Access to a car to travel across clinic sites

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Support Worker to join our Community MSK physiotherapy team.
The role of the Clinical Therapy Support Worker is to use their specialized technical skills to assist in the physical, psychological and functional rehabilitation of those patients referred to the service.
The Clinical Therapy Support Worker will work alongside and in negotiation with a registered Physiotherapist and be responsible for an agreed specific caseload.
You will have the opportunity to facilitate or support weekly group activities with specific objectives, as required, e.g. Pilates, breaking down barriers to exercise service, back rehab or an off-loading knee brace clinic.
Main duties of the job
Use up to date MSK knowledge and evidence when delivering care, advising and promoting health and well-being. The post holder will make person centred, evidence-based judgements in partnership with others involved in the care process to ensure high quality care.
To complete follow up subjective and objective reviews with MSK patients for exercise progression, guided by the referring clinician.
Using a variety of skills used within MSK, i.e., soft tissue massage and exercise prescription, support patients with progression and steps towards self-management, as guided by a registered clinician.
Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload.
Access to a car to travel across clinic sites.
