      The University Endowment Lands is situated between UBC and the City of Vancouver and is experiencing the fastest rate of growth in it’s 100 year history. The Director of Development Services is responsible for leading and guiding the growth in this unique environment, overseeing rezoning and development applications, building inspection, and long term planning including development associated with the potential Skytrain extension to UBC.

      Job Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Land-Use planning or other equivalent program area; and/or relevant trades, engineering or land-use planning diploma or other technical qualification in civil and structural engineering, building technology or land-use planning.
      • Certificate in Public Administration or equivalent education and experience preferred.
      • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in land use planning, building inspection or public works management.
      • Level 3 Building Inspector certification from the Building Inspector’s Association of British Columbia or equivalent certification preferred.
      • Eligibility for relevant professional association membership (e.g. Building Officials Association of BC, Planning Institute of BC).

      About this Position:
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and temporary opportunities
      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
