- Bachelor Degree or higher in Social Work or Child & Youth Care; OR
- Master Degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Educational Counselling Psychology; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role with responsibility for Quality Assurance/Practice oversight or direct client service delivery in child and family services, preferably in a multidisciplinary environment and must possess a strong leadership foundation.
- Two (2) or more years of experience managing human and fiscal resources.
- Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis.
- Experience with emergent, outcomes based, person focused and restorative service design principles to support the implementation of the QA programs and services model, to assess the impact of service delivery and identify areas for improvement in policy, practice, and service.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Child Welfare related Quality Assurance.

The Director of Quality Assurance (DQA) position is responsible for the oversight of practice and quality assurance across a broad spectrum of services, including Early Childhood Development services, services for Children and Youth with Support Needs, Child and Youth Mental Health, Child Safety, Family Support and Children in Care, Community Youth Justice, and Adoption Services across the province.
The DQA supports the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s (MCFD) strategic priorities, consistent with provincial direction, to ensure MCFD achieves service excellence and meaningful outcomes for children, youth, families, and communities through effective and valued services.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Quality Assurance, the DQA is responsible for the Ministry’s Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure MCFD achieves service excellence across its six service lines. This responsibility includes regular reporting on all elements of the QA program. The program is consistent with both operational and strategic objectives as set out in the Ministry’s Strategic Framework.

About this Position:
This position is a Temporary Assignment, with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one or more days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
This position is excluded from union membership.
