Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our award winning Payroll department at UHB. Based at Regent Court, near Five Ways Island in Birmingham City Centre, we provide payroll services to over 20 Trusts in the UK and have circa 100 staff.
As an ever-expanding department, there are progression opportunities available on a regular basis. We expect our staff to be hard working, able to meet strict deadlines and work as part of a growing team. You will have responsibility for your own section of work, and after initial training will be expected to manage your own workload.
Payroll is a vital component of the NHS and we embrace the challenges that the complexities of NHS terms and conditions give to us, to ensure our staff are paid accurately and on time.
Main duties of the job
1.Responsible for the data loading/processing of all information received electronically for weekly and monthly payrolls, including:
*eTAD (Electronic Turnaround Documents)
*T&A and Absence interface files
*Allowance and deduction templates
2.Assist in the production of weekly and monthly payroll processes.
3.To run and distribute all payroll reports relating to payroll runs as detailed in the payroll processing control documentation.
4.To run standard and ad-hoc reports as requested using ESR, Discoverer and Business Intelligence.
5.To comply with department procedures and Trust Standing Financial Instructions and Regulations.
6.To provide advice or assistance verbally, face to face or electronically to Colleagues, Managers, Customers and external agencies.
7.To assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly processing timetables for the following tax year.
8.To support the expenses team ensuring expense claims are input accurately to ESR and paid on time.
9.General Payroll processing Responsibilities:
*To build and maintain relationships with colleagues, staff from Customer organisations, managers and external organisations through effective communication;
*To assist in providing data for audit and analytical reviews;
*To review opportunities to develop the service delivery module
