- Recently qualified as a Registered Dietitian
- Has gained experience of different ways of caseload management and delivering services
- Has a concept about the need for continued professional development and can give examples of how this can be achieved
- Has gained some experience of working with groups and individuals in practice placement and can give examples of this, including preparation, delivery and evaluation of sessions
- Is aware of current topical nutritional issues and can give an opinion of one of these.
- Is able to report back on work undertaken and work within own limitations.
- Can demonstrate abilities in organisation skills, time management, setting priorities, managing a small workload / caseload.
- Can use different approaches to communication with a wide variety of patients, both as individuals and in groups and with the public
- Is able to work as part of a team and appreciates what this involves, and the need to work with a variety of disciplines to optimise patient care.

Job summary
Are you recently qualified and just looking for a change or are you graduating soon and wanting to start your dietetic career and interested in Mental Health Dietetics?
We have an exciting, new and unique opportunity for graduate dietitians to join our diverse and dynamic Mental Health team within the Primary Care Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
This post will offer you a varied graduate post working both as part of the Mental Health Multidisciplinary team providing nutritional care for people in both the community and in patients.
There will also be opportunity to develop skills in all aspects of Primary care.
We are a friendly and innovative team working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland to support our population.
Main duties of the job
The posts offer the opportunity to develop your Dietetic Skills with a wide variety of individuals.
We are looking for dietitians who have good team working skills and can work independently.
You will need excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, along with a passion for working with patients, relatives, carers and other professionals to provide high quality care.
The team are involved in assessment, monitoring of patients on the wards and outpatients, providing expert nutritional advice and support to patients, conducting regular training with ward staff and community staff, and ensuring appropriate discharges for patients.
Due to the nature of the work its not uncommon to see a wide variety of clinical conditions e.g. nutrition support, eating disorders
The service is committed to CPD and personal development and we have good clinical supervision models and in-house CPD in place to support you.
The service is involved in the pre-registration placements for student dietitians undertaking A, B and C placements.
The post will be based in the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service Headquarters, close to the M1/M69 junction.You will need to be a car driver, and be willing to use your car during the working day.
