Job summary
The post holder will be one of the band 6 junior sister/charge nurses' team, creating strong senior leadership, working closely with the Sister / Charge Nurse. To work on a rota working over 7 days 8am - 8pm.

The post holder will be expected to:

Possess good communication skills working closely with individuals & teams to develop & maintain services.
Dedication to provide a high standard of service & a flexibility to cover needs of service to ensure success & fulfilment
Evidence of continuing professional & personal development
Support the CDC services when there is a medical emergency, managing unwell patients within all specialities and patients affected by adverse reaction to contrast.
Provide simulation training for CDC services for medical emergency scenarios
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and thedevelopment, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards ofevidence-based care using a defined model of care - for patients within the CDC who areunwell or suffering with adverse reaction to contrast.- To undertake all nursing procedures and practices as specified in the Trusts policies andprocedures and to ensure that they are adhered to by all staff, within own managementresponsibility. To contribute towards the development of relevant evidence based clinicalguidelines.- To communicate with patients and significant others with empathy and reassuranceregarding assessment and care- To provide psychological support to patients and their carers in coping with their illnessand treatment, support as appropriate- Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure patients have access to appropriate timelygood quality information relating to their diagnosis and be active in the delivery of thisinformation to patients.- To ensure transport patients leave the service in a timely manner and support patientswho experience delays.
