      Job summary

Are you interested in working with people in mental health crisis? We are a crisis home treatment team looking for new Band 6's to join our team. If you are a Band 5 ready to make the step in your development, then we would love to hear from you too.

The access teams (and all the BANES teams) are very compassionate, and there will be many staff across the teams who would support you along your journey in your new role. As we work towards a home treatment model you will be part of a multidisciplinary team including newly introduced roles such as clinical associate psychologists. This range of scope allows for great interprofessional learning and training.

We really value our workforce. BANES Intensive is a great place to work that has a focus on delivering effective and holistic interventions. This allows access to opportunities for training to develop excellent clinical skills in areas of interest as well as develop leadership skills which you might not get from other roles. The intensive team in BANES has nurtured many clinicians with personalised training options - from a clinical and leadership perspective. Many of these clinicians have gone on to achieve promotions in the locality which has opened up roles within the team.

      Main duties of the job

Within this B6 role they may:

      > Accept and review referrals.

      > Complete holistic psychosocial assessments within the community and general hospital settings for home treatment or gatekeeping for hospital admission.

      > Attend Mental Health Act assessments, and offer home treatment plans when indicated.

      > Implementation of Risk Management and Care Plans for the effective home treatment of Service Users utilising least restrictive practice at every opportunity.

      > Medication management and concordance within community. Other duties and responsibilities included in line with job description.

      > Good communication and organisational skills are essential to this role, along with excellent clinical knowledge and skills.

This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP trust policy all newly qualified social workers (NQSW) will be recruited initially at Band 5 level, regardless of advertised role banding. All NQSW's are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within 2 years of employment, unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case it may be extended for a further 2 years.

If you have been appointed to an advertised Band 6 role this will be an automatic progression, following confirmation of your successful ASYE completion. If you have been appointed to a Band 5 post you will then be eligible to apply for a subsequent Band 6 vacancy upon successful ASYE completion.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
