      Job summary

      Come and join our Later Life Therapies Service, working in the Memory Service Team. You will work closely with the Later Life Psychology Lead and other psychologists in the team and supervise the Band 7 Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist in the Memory Service. You will be joining a supportive team, at an exciting time of change and transformation within our services.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful applicant will be highly-motivated to provide a high quality, evidence-based neuropsychology service and will have experience of working with older adult individuals with complex cognitive difficulties.

      The memory service has dedicated multidisciplinary clinicians, with opportunities for consultation and training, in the form of specialist neuropsychological supervision and consultation. The provision of neuropsychological assessment and team formulation will be a key part of this role.

      North Somerset Later Life Therapies Service (PTS) is a small, dedicated and friendly team including a Psychology Lead for Later Life, Clinical Psychologists, Music Therapist, an Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists. All share a passion for providing high quality, compassionate care.

      We have established links with local training providers in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. All PTS staff have access to regular activities to support their ongoing professional development, including a bi-monthly CPD Club. We regularly host placements for Clinical and Counselling Psychology trainees and trainees in music therapy.

      The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to provide a good quality, evidence based neuropsychology assessment, supervision and consultation service within a changing and challenging environment. They will have experience of working with individuals with complex cognitive difficulties and risk issues within secondary care, and a particular interest in working with Later Life service users and neuropsychology. They will enjoy working as part of a team and thrive on working under pressure.

      • Doctoral Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology qualification, or equivalent.
      • HCPC Registered.
      • Post qualification and further specialist training in clinical neuropsychology

      Desirable

      • Experience of training in supervision

      • Experience of training others in topics of neuropsychology
      • Experience of working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues
      • Clinical supervision/consultation with other professionals
