      Job summary

      As a result of retirement, we are looking to appoint a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to principally work at CAMHS The Beacon Inpatient Unit and also to support the CAMHS Crisis Team at times when the number of young people occupying inpatient beds is below capacity.

      Ideally, you will be an experienced and qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist with current UKCP registration and have experience of working with complex mental health needs in both inpatient and community services.

      You will be joining a vibrant professional group of 9 other Family and Systemic Psychotherapists who work across a range of outpatient teams. Systemic Supervision will be provided and in addition you will be able to join a family therapy clinic, working with another Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and 2-3 other CAMHS clinicians.

      The team at The Beacon currently consists of clinicians from a wide range of disciplines: Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Systemic Psychotherapy has been a valued and integral part of the team for many years. Staff work closely with CAMHS Specialist Teams, Inpatient and Adult services while also having connections with the wider MDT within the community. We offer early specialist assessment and intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people up to the age of 18 years old and their families.

      Main duties of the job

      Some of the duties you will undertake within this role include:

      • To undertake detailed & highly specialist psychological and systemic assessments of children and families. This will involve face to face contact with young people and families.
      • To be responsible for offering Systemic Psychotherapy, utilising a range of systemic interventions to individuals and their families.
      • To create and deliver, participate in, and sustain highly developed therapeutic interventions,
      • The delivery of an agreed package of care, to young people and families.
      • The provision of highly specialist one-to-one clinical consultations to other clinical staff, contributing directly to the formulation, diagnosis and intervention plans.
      • Contribute to the requirements of CPD provision and support the learning of multi-disciplinary staff team at all levels of expertise.
      • Be involved in the delivery of Reflective Practice
      • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conference and reviews.
      • To participate, when appropriate, in an area of a special clinical interest, clinical group or clinical problem.
      • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual young people and to provide advice to other professionals on the systemic aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
      • To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of young people and their families
