Job summary
UCLH are looking for a Band 8b Finance manager to join their team Full time from January 2025. The role is projected to continue until April 2025 with a view to extend. The initial core portfolio for this role will be Medical Specialties, Infection, Integration, and Camden MSK Divisions. In addition, all Finance Business Partners will have board wide financial leadership roles on projects or initiatives that are centrally co-ordinated. You will be responsible for the management 3 Management accountants and will be reporting to the head of finance.
Main duties of the job
Co-ordinate workloads and set the objectives and priorities.
Completion of forecasts and consolidation of a Divisional monthly performance report will be undertaken by the Finance Manager in consultation with the Divisional Managers.
Act as the designated Financial Management representative at Divisional management and operational meetings.
Provide and maintain high level financial management, planning and business support service for the division.
Prepare budgets and a financial plan in line with approved contracts and expected income, and to maintain financial controls to ensure financial probity.
Be accountable in ensuring that the division meets its financial obligations through developing and monitoring financial metrics and early warning systems to appropriately deliver financial recovery.
Ensure that financial planning processes are embedded within the Division and develop an improved capability to model the impact of service performance improvements.
Prepare and plan for long term changes in activity volumes & mix on future income, commissioning intention and expenditure.

Job responsibilities
In conjunction with the Head of Finance, to take the financial lead on developing Divisional business plans and presenting these to the clinical board & Trust Executive Directors.
Identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies and high-lighting areas of risk and ensuring these are closely monitored.
To be the designated Financial Management representatives on Divisional Management teams and to present financial management information and advice at Performance reviews.
To provide and present complex financial management information, and advice to senior Divisional staff, the Head of Finance and Trust Executive Directors, and to ensure the development of robust financial forecasts.
To take the financial lead on commercial & contractual relationship with external partners. This includes proactively managing financial aspects of performance of contracts/arrangements against expectation.
To support the implementation and development of the Finance department strategy.
