      Bank Pharmacy Assistant

      Hours: Zero hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

      We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our bank workforce in supporting the clinical pharmacy team.

      Now is an excellent time to become part of the pharmacy team at MKUH; we are a friendly, forward-thinking department who continue to grow in both size and influence. Recent enhancements include a major departmental refurbishment, the introduction of a new Pharmacy Robot, the establishment of a new Pharmacy and Aseptic Unit in the Cancer Centre, and the opening of a new Outpatient Pharmacy.

      You will be part of a small team of Pharmacy Assistants support the delivery of pharmacy and medicines across the Trust

      Our standard working hours are of four long days (8 am to 6.30 pm) per week, this is flexible to relevant needs and considerations.

      Main duties of the job

      Performing environmental monitoring within the department

      To perform, under supervision, all types of pharmaceutical work appropriate to the level of knowledge and experience, in order to participate in the provision of pharmaceutical services to our patients and staff.

      To hold the required academic standard and technical skills of or equivalent to an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services Skills (Band 3).

      To act as a dispenser within our hospital pharmacy service, as required as part of our weekend and bank holiday service to the patients of our hospital and other organisations to whom we provide pharmaceutical support

To fulfil the duties assigned from time to time as required to meet the needs of the Trust, its patients, staff and visitors; to participate in rotas and flexible arrangements to maintain the services required as defined by the chief pharmacist or pharmacy staff to whom those decisions are delegated

      Operational Responsibilities (Dispensary & Stores) To undertake all designated and relevant training and consistently demonstrate competence in the relevant underpinning knowledge and skills to obtain an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Services Skills. To receive prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients via the dispensary reception and undertake other relevant reception duties to complement and supplement the work of our staff
