- Completed RCSLT Newly qualified SLT competencies

- Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the management of communication patients.
- To be able to independently assess and manage patients with dysphagia.
- To be competent in handling the emotional and psychosocial aspects of working with a complex SLT caseload in the community
- Demonstrates excellent concentration, analytical and reflection skills
- Good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically
- Demonstrates ability to be a good team member and assume leadership responsibilities when required by line manager
- Knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the specialist patient group
- Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions for dysphagia and communication and an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits.
- Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.
- Understanding of the roles of other professionals relevant to the patient group
- Car driver with access to own car for work purposes
- Experience working clinically as an SLT with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Evidence of independent caseload management.
- Evidence of independent management of a dysphagia caseload (with relevant competencies signed off as appropriate)
- Experience working as an SLT with adults who have neurological conditions
- Experience of working with other professionals relevant to patient groups.
- Experience of supporting patients with AAC provision
- Experience of participating in audit and service improvement projects
- Experience of managing a voice or dysfluency caseload.

We're currently recruiting to bank roles for our Adult Speech and Language Therapy team. This post is up to 1.0WTE however we would welcome applications from staff who are able to work remotely or part time. The minimum level of commitment expected would be 7.5 hours.
Our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service thrives on a culture of support and camaraderie. Operating throughout the Borough of Bromley, we provide our services to patients in their homes, care facilities, outpatient clinics and remotely.
You will be joining our service at an exciting time as we have recently procured mobile FEES equipment. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be involved in this service including referring into and assisting with assessments, with support from leads to sign off competencies.

Main duties of the job
This aim of this role is to provide an excellent service to community patients with acquired swallowing, communication, voice and/or dysfluency disorders, in a number of face-to-face settings or remotely.
Due to a huge amount of investment in technology, Bromley Healthcare is able to offer staff flexibility in their working to a level rarely seen elsewhere.
