- Customer Service:
- Provides exceptional customer service and delivers legendary service with a “customer comes first” attitude.
- Connects with customers, responds to their needs using the “just say yes” approach, and anticipates customer and store needs by evaluating the environment.
- Discovers customer needs and appropriately suggests additional products to enhance service and meet sales goals.
- Product Preparation & Presentation:
- Assists customers in selecting and purchasing specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales as necessary.
- Presents oneself professionally and communicates using Star Skills during all customer and team interactions.
- Adheres to the Starbucks dress code.
- Prepares quality beverages (including espresso drinks and Coffee of the Week) and food products by strictly following all recipes and presentation standards.
- Complies with state, federal, and The Joint Commission health, safety, and sanitation standards/guidelines during product preparation and service.
- Store Operations:
- Follows store policies and procedures to ensure efficient operational flow at each station.
- Organizes work areas to facilitate efficient customer service while maintaining a clean and comfortable environment as per the Duty Rosters and cleaning standards.
- Assists in merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products and follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
- Operates the cash register, verifies starting cash, enters transactions by designated category (cash, gift card, credit card, etc.), and follows cash handling policies.
- Notifies the supervisor of any discrepancies or errors.
- Equipment Management:
- Operates beverage and food service equipment per Starbucks/department policy.
- Disassembles, reassembles, cleans, and maintains equipment in accordance with the preventive maintenance checklist.
- Additional Duties:
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the department's and hospital's goals and objectives.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.\
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous Barista or Food Service experience is preferred.
- Note: The ideal candidate will have 1 year of direct Starbucks experience.
- (LC: BARISTA): Must have Barista Certification after completing Initial Store Training within six weeks of employment.
- (LC: SERVSAFE): Must complete a ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program (or another ANSI-accredited program) within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification during employment.
- The employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and engage in conversation or listening.
- Occasionally, the employee may be required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment may expose the employee to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat, with a moderate noise level overall.
- The employee must be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations and move about the workspace to access work surfaces, shelves, cabinets, drawers, and equipment.
Ensures service standards are met and surpassed by creating the Starbucks experience for customers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.Position: Starbucks Barista (Full-time, 6:45 am - 3:15 pm Monday-Friday & Occasional Weekends)

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
