      Description

      Summary

      The Bartender is primarily responsible for serving properly mixed drinks to guests, table and dining room clean up, and providing support in all areas of the restaurant. This individual will promote a safe and welcoming environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and works with the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager and fellow staff members to ensure maximum efficiency.

      Essential functions

      • Knows and applies federal, state, and local laws governing the service of alcoholic beverages, as well as the hotel's policies regarding liquor service and liability.
      • Gathers all needed supplies and equipment for the bar set-up.
      • Sets up the bar according to hotel standards and maintains it during the shift.
      • Performs necessary side work.
      • Reports tips for each pay period.
      • Serves properly mixed drinks and food to guests.
      • Responsible for preparing drinks for all service staff.
      • Punches in and reports to the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager on time and in full uniform for each shift. Obtains Manager's approval prior to punching out.
      • Runs tabs, computes guest checks, operates the computerized cash register system, and accepts payments.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager.
      • Maintain stock and organization of bar coolers.
      • Tip-out support staff in accordance with hotel standards.
      • Assist with banquet functions as needed.

      Qualifications


      Education & experience

      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Previous bartending experience is required
      • Knowledge of basic restaurant service
      • Fluency in other languages beneficial

      Requirements

      • Authorized to work in the United States
      • Knowledgeable in mixology, beers, wines, and other spirits
      • Effective verbal and written communication English skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
      • Detail-oriented and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are based on occupancy and business-needs.
      • Willing to “pitch-in” and be a team player
      • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
      • Professional appearance and demeanor
      • Passionate about creating an exceptional experience for all guests
