      How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

      The Base Manager is responsible for developing and mentoring Field Service Managers along
      with supporting the day to day base operation. In-Flight Service is seeking individuals who
      have demonstrated leadership experience and possess a high level of motivation to achieve
      exceptional results. The successful candidate will lead a diverse team of merit leaders to
      support, engage and develop Flight Attendants. The candidate must role model Delta’s core
      values and uphold The Rules of the Road.
      Key Responsibilities:
      • Execute base strategies and tactics to achieve critical metrics which include, but are
      • not limited to Safety, Operating Budget, Customer NPS, Employee Satisfaction and
      • Leadership Development.
      • Ensure Field Service Managers are executing their role responsibilities according to
      • established Standard Operating Procedures and driving system consistency.
      • Support the execution of IFS and corporate initiatives by ensuring direct reports
      • understand the “why behind the what” and expected outcomes.
      • Provide mentorship, leadership development and maintain positive employee
      • relations for a diverse workforce.
      • Build trust and respect with Flight Attendants and merit team via open channels of clear and
      • transparent communication.
      • Effectively engage and support local Employee Involvement Group (EIG).
      • Collaborate with leader to reconcile base operating plan along with base resource
      • allocation for staffing.
      • May act as a liaison at station level, cross divisional meetings representing IFS.
      • Execute full onboard Flight Attendant duties as required.
      • If not already Flight Attendant qualified, must successfully complete initial Flight
      • Attendant training and maintain qualifications.
      • Travel required.
      • Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays to support a 24/7
      • global operation.
      • Ensures safety awareness and compliance throughout workplace.
      • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious
      • environment resulting in employee safety and well-being

      What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

      • High school education or GED equivalent.
      • Possess strong communication skills with the ability to articulate company and
      • division initiatives to educate and motivate employees.
      • Experience collaborating and influencing others to drive change.
      • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
      • Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office applications.
      • (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.

      What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

      • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience
      • Experience in dealing with a wide variety of operational and safety situations
      • Previous experience as Field Service Manager
      • Three years of In-Flight Service or Delta experience
      • Two or more years of People Management experience
