      STARTING PAY: $13.00 per hour
      WORK SCHEDULE: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holiday
      Varied hours, up to 40 hours per week

      SUMMARY
      Under the direction of the Beach Manager, the Beach Staff will perform the front gate duties, office duties and boat rental duties.

      QUALIFICATIONS
      • Minimum of 15 years of age
      • Ability to enforce rules and regulations
      • Must be able to count monies and give accurate change

      • Competent in handling money banks, receipts and deposits completely

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
      • Work all assigned hours
      • Enforce beach and park regulations in a respectful manner
      • Collect the appropriate fees for resident guests and non-residents
      • Keep accurate records of attendance, separating residents from non-residents
      • Report to Beach Manager any problems relating to the safety of any boat or equipment
      • Set up and take down of parking cones with other issued equipment for select events
      • Assist residents and patrons in positioning their vehicles in proper parking positions for select events
      • Maintenance tasks will be performed for upkeep, maintenance of the parks, bathrooms and beaches
      • Keep park and gate area clean and safe
      • Deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
      • Work effectively with fellow employees
      • Project a positive image and neat appearance to visitors of the Crystal Lake Park District
      • Exhibits a positive image through adherence to uniform policies
      • Be alert and businesslike at all times
      • Prevents accidents by eliminating hazards and hazardous behavior from the facility during assigned shifts
      • Participate in Park District safety and training program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner
      • Assures Park District policies are enforced with tact and flexibility and follows Park District personnel policies and procedures
      • Maintains a positive working relationship with other park district staff
      • Attend all staff meetings
      • Perform other duties as assigned
      HOURS AND COMPENSATION
      • A regular schedule will be established at least one week in advance.
      • Rate of pay will be based upon current part-time seasonal salary schedule and years of experience.
      • Hours will vary according to weather conditions.
      • Beach Staff will have one day off per week.
      • During inclement weather, Beach Staff will be required to do light maintenance or administrative work. The pay rate will be the same.
      • Due to the seasonal nature of this job, paid vacations, vacation time, sick time, paid time off and holidays do not apply to this position.

      PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS
      • Must be in condition adequate to conduct on site inspection of park district facilities and operations
      • Must be able to perform manual labor with varying degrees of physical exertion
      • Must be able to list 50 pounds. Over 50 pounds with assistance.
      • May frequently be required to walk, sit, talk and hear
      • May frequently be required to use hand and/or fingers, handle feel and reach with hands and arms
      • May frequently be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
      • May be in awkward or difficult positions resulting in physical fatigue
      • Must have specific vision abilities required for this job: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

      Prolonged stress and pressures of the position could affect some individual’s blood pressure

      ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
      Beach Staff are required to work in a variety of weather conditions when assigned. Beach Staff will be required to work in all elements of weather (i.e. extreme heat, wind, sun, rain). Occasionally exposed to elevated noise levels from participants, large crowds, public venues, sound equipment, maintenance equipment and/or power tools. Will be exposed to dust, pollens, molds, insects etc. may be present.
