- Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
- Ensure individual needs of participants are met within program guidelines.
- Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with the Gateway Region YMCA policies.
- Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
- Ensure YMCA policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain an environment that ensures participant’s safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
- Works with director to determine current needs for program.
- Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
- Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
- Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.
- Ensure ADA compliance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations.
- Ensure individual needs of the youth needing support are met and supported while remaining within the approved program parameters.
- Implement reasonable accommodations to programs and activities as needed.
- Review, understand and implement Association IEP Summary Support paperwork.
- Develops and implements adaptive child care curriculum.
- Provide opportunities to build self-help and independent skills
- Maintain confidentiality and accurately prepare and provide proper records, documentation and files
- Communicate professionally and accurately with YMCA staff, participants and families.
- Ensure youth receiving support is fully included in all site activities, as much as is reasonable to expect, based upon level of documented ability
- Ensure approved level of 1:1; 1:2 or 1:3 (staff/youth) support are maintained as recommended.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- High School/GED/University completion in field or related field (based on position)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One to two years related experience preferred
- Ability to use typical business software and office equipment
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications
