      Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

      As the Benefits & Disability Consultant, you will be accountable for the execution, support and consultation related to benefit, disability management, investment, and wellness programs, and analyze the usage and data to develop or change programs to better align with business objectives. You will be the main contact among managers, employees, HRBP’s and Sun Life to provide a positive experience. The goals are to enhance employee knowledge, improve processes and programs, ensure compliance with legislation for benefits and investments, and ensure compliance with the leave of absence policy.

      Location: You will be based in our Toronto, ON office and will work in a Hybrid model.

      Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Senior Manager, Payroll & HR Services.

      Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

      Benefits & Pension

      • Lead the annual benefit re-enrolment and renewal process and the communication strategy to educate employees, build awareness and understanding of investment and benefit plans.

      • Analyze benefit and investment usage and participation and provide recommendations to better align programs with business objectives .

      • Responsible for the design and improvement of Workday benefit and investment business processes.

      • Help develop and implement new programs or changes related to the benefit and investment programs, including policies, and plan documentation.

      • Reconcile investment and benefit related information between the HR systems (Workday, Sun Life).

      • Assist on compliance with pension and benefit legislation and regulations, create and maintain required records and reports, including Form 7 reporting.

      • Maintain knowledge of and analyze government regulations, program trends, and prevailing practices.

      Disability Management

      • Help develop and implement new programs or changes related to the disability program.

      • Participate in the development of disability standards/programs and process to ensure fairness and consistency in administration and adjudication.

      • Partner with HRBP on complex cases including the development of non-compliance/warning letters if an employee is not being compliant.

      • Manage the Short Term and Long Term Disability Management Programs including claims management, administration and employee contact.

      • Provide disability payment updates to payroll in a timely manner.

      • Liaise with service providers to develop return to work agreements.

      Wellness

      • Implement wellness initiatives company-wide to create a healthier environment to aid in the management of healthcare costs and support attraction and retention.

      • Lead all Wellness Events.

      • Develop wellness communications to provide information, increase awareness and understanding of wellness programs.

      • Manage wellness budget for wellness programs and activities for the year.

      • Research and consult with external vendors on various wellness programs offerings and bringing forward findings/recommendations to management.

      Your Moneris Career - What you bring

      • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources or Business Management.

      • 3+ years of disability, investment and benefits experience.

      • Proficient with Microsoft Windows/ MS Office Applications.

      • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal).

      • Demonstrated ability to behave in a manner that is discreet, confidential and sensitive to the personal and professional needs of others.

      Nice-to-have...

      • CEBS designation.

      • CHRP designation.

      • Fluent in French.
