      Location: Brio Living Services
      Full-Time Exempt level position | 40 hours per week | HR Team | Hybrid Work Environment – Chelsea, Michigan

      How You'll Make an Impact:

      As the Benefits & Leaves Administrator, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things benefits, wellness, leaves, and workplace injury management, ensuring our Team Members receive exceptional support while maintaining compliance with federal, state (Michigan), and local regulations. This individual contributor role serves as the primary point of contact for Team Members, managers, and HR partners regarding leave administration, benefits administration, workplace safety and injury, and policy compliance. You’ll collaborate with HR partners, leaders, and external vendors to streamline benefits and leave processes—because taking care of people is what we do best!

      How You'll Lead the Way:

      Team Member Support & Education

      • Serve as the primary contact for Team Member benefits, wellness, leave, and workplace injury inquiries with empathy and accuracy.
      • Educate Team Members and managers on leave options, eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work transitions.
      • Lead engaging benefits education sessions, ensuring Team Members understand their available programs and make informed choices.
      • Educate team members and managers on workplace safety injury protocols

      Leave Administration

      • Manage and track FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability, and company-sponsored leave programs.
      • Ensure compliance with Michigan Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA), FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
      • Act as a liaison between Team Members, managers, and third-party administrators, ensuring a smooth process from leave request to return to work.
      • Maintain HRIS leave records, collaborate with Payroll on pay adjustments, and analyze leave usage trends.

      Benefits Administration & Wellness Programs

      • Manage the daily administration of Brio’s benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, 403(b), HSA, FSA, life insurance, disability, wellness initiatives, and all other offerings that support Team Member well-being
      • Serve as the primary contact for Team Members needing support with benefit eligibility, claims, and enrollment.
      • Lead the annual Open Enrollment process, including ADP system setup, vendor coordination, and Team Member communication.
      • Manage benefit deductions, employer contributions (403(b), HSA, FSA), COBRA processing, and ACA compliance.
      • Administer 403(b) retirement plan compliance, including audits and reporting.
      • Develop and manage wellness initiatives that align with Brio’s mission to support Team Member well-being and engagement.

      Workers’ Compensation & Workplace Injury Management

      • Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims across all Brio Living Services locations, ensuring compliance with Michigan Workers’ Compensation laws.
      • Support injured Team Members by ensuring appropriate medical care and return-to-work coordination.
      • Monitor and document all workplace incidents, collaborating with managers and HR to facilitate a smooth process.
      • Lead claims reviews with third-party administrators, keeping senior management informed on claim service issues and regulatory changes.
      • Ensure compliance with OSHA reporting requirements and manage annual audits.

      Compliance & Reporting

      • Stay ahead of Michigan labor laws to ensure Brio’s benefits and leave policies remain compliant.
      • Prepare reports on benefits participation, leave utilization, and compliance metrics for HR leadership.
      • Manage benefits billing invoices, audits, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
      • Manage workers’ compensation audits, management and submission of OSHA logs, and other regulatory reporting as required by state and local laws.

      What Sets You Apart:

      Required Experience:

      ✔ At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration and leave management or equivalent knowledge and expertise.

      Experience administering health and wellness benefit plans including health, std, ltd, life and other coverages.
      Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits tracking software (e.g., ADP).
      Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and Michigan-specific leave laws

      (PMLA, Workers’ Compensation, Disability Regulations).
      Experience handling Workers’ Compensation claims, OSHA reporting, and ACA compliance.
      Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
      Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and Team Member service skills.

      Preferred:

      • HR/Benefits Certifications (SHRM, PHR, CEBS) a plus!
      • Experience working with Self-Funded Plans and Reference-Based Pricing Plans.
      • Experience in Michigan-based or multi-state HR roles.
