      Summary/Objective

      Under broad supervision, confirms the integrity of financial statements, verifying assets, determining liabilities, and ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations by interpreting laws and policies, and auditing records, transactions and financial data. May require special certification . Owns assigned tasks . May also serve in a lead role .



      Essential Functions

      • Oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for vendor relationships and warehouse operations.
      • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments and attends training as scheduled.
      • Applies pertinent knowledge to the performance of other responsibilities.
      • Serves as a spokesperson and liaison for the Department by communicating effectively with vendors personnel, officers, and directors, as well as other agencies.
      • Oversees vendor financial responsibilities and complies with the Policy requirements of the Department.
      • Travels to vending locations to perform job duties and to locations for required review.
      • Coaches’ blind vendor managers in the fiscal operations of their facilities.
      • Perform site analysis for operational improvement opportunities for a blind vendor.
      • Assists with financial policies and procedures associated with overall program operations.
      • Manages and reviews all vendor and programmatic expenses for federal reporting.
      • Reviews all expenses and reports and confirms allowable expenses.
      • Trains vendor on financial reports, settlement reports, assisting and setting up a business account, and stresses timely submission of reports for accurate accounting purposes.
      • Instructs blind vendors on duties, performance expectations, and performance measurement criteria.
      • Confers regularly with staff on vendor analysis, specific problem areas, and actions necessary for improvement.
      • Works with vendors to develop and implement strategies for improving key metrics and business operations.
      • Maintain a record of trend analysis and make recommendations for procedural changes where appropriate.
      • Sort and monitor commission checks received by third-party vendors (jobbers)
      • Work with business support specialist to analyze inventory levels, equipment costs, and logistical expenses.

      Work Environment

      This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

      Physical Demands

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

      Working Conditions

      Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodation can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.

      Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

      This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work to include 24-hour on-calls, seven days a week for multiple office sites.

      Travel

      Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

      Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience; or five (5) years of professional job-related experience in a relevant area; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Financial Examiner 2 (RCP111) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
