      Come join our dynamic and growing treatment team in the Women’s Partial Program (WPP) and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program (CBT) at Butler Hospital!!! The position offers full time work with benefits and allows for incentive options for additional income if desired.

      The CBT and WPP programs treat patients (ages 18 upward) with a variety of mental health concerns at a partial hospital level of care. The CBT program focuses on understanding thought patterns and managing emotional and behavioral responses. The WPP provides treatment using a combined ACT/DBT protocol for cisgender women, female-identifying, and non-binary individuals with a wide range of symptoms. Common symptoms include unstable, intense, and distressing emotions; chronic suicidal thoughts; impulsivity; self-injury; identity concerns; and relationship problems. The majority of patients are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.

      The program therapist is responsible for psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, treatment planning, providing daily 1:1 and group therapy (skill based and psychotherapy groups). They collaborate with a large treatment team consisting of psychiatrists, program director, clinical leads, occupational therapy, social service clinicians and unit secretaries to ensure the patient fully benefits from the care they receive.

      • Training and Experience: Experience in a psychiatric setting is required. Training and experience in delivering evidence-based behavioral treatments particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) preferred.
      • Special Qualifications: Must have an interest and commitment in the programs at Butler Hospital and the department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown. Must be able to function effectively working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with multi-disciplinary staff and complex patient population.
      • Must be working towards or have secured independent license (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT).
