- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Supervise alcohol/drug dependent clients; telephone rules; client’s visitors and sign-in policies; enforce curfew and quiet hour policies.
- Ensure clients are transported to appointments and activities as assigned/necessary.*
- Provide client support and guidance.
- Perform de-escalation interventions with clients as needed.*
- Prepare documentation of services provided to clients.
- Operate and maintain program vehicle as instructed, if applicable.
- Administer urinalysis drug screens as needed.
- Prepare requisitions of inventory and supplies as requested.
- Assist with all procedures involved in supervision of client self-administration of medication.*
- Initiate start and/or end of daily activities.
- Supervise the completion of client therapeutic work assignments.
- Supervise any medical emergencies that may arise and notify appropriate administrative staff.
- Manage all client planned activities on shift.
- Provide client guidance and support whenever necessary.
- Inspect clients returning from appointments for sobriety and administer breath/urine screens as appropriate.
- Document any client incidents and/or informal coaching using the appropriate instruments to do so.*
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed
- Must speak both Spanish and English
- Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, as needed per program requirements.
- Must have knowledge and utilization of community resources depending on clients served in the Spanish community.
- Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships with Spanish community.
- Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, depending on program.
- Must be knowledgeable and responsive to cultural diversity issues presented in the coordination of services.
- Must have competent organizational skills, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work independently from general instructions.
- Must have good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
- If providing transportation services, must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide copy of driver’s license and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of “unacceptable” is not permitted to operate a vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.
- If transporting clients, must provide proof of auto insurance including effective dates of coverage and maintain minimum liability insurance coverage of $100,000 per individual and $300,000 per incident for driving personal vehicle.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
- 7:30 am - 7:30 pm
- 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
- 8:00 pm – 8:00 am
- $20.00/hour, work 36 hours a week and be paid for 40 with perfect attendance.
- The shift differential of an additional $1/hour 12:00 am – 7:00 am
- RA’s are required to work some holidays and weekends.

If there are zero call offs, zero instances of tardiness, or early departures during a shift, then the RA will have achieved what we will call “perfect attendance and qualify for four additional hours of pay per week. With perfect attendance, an RA can be paid for 8 hours s/he did not have to actively work! We hope this incentive helps Catholic Charities recruit and retain only the best staff which could be YOU!
