      Position Summary

The Fee Billing Analyst is primarily responsible for the calculation, execution, and review of all aspects of the client management fee process at Brown Advisory. This role requires close collaboration with various operational groups, including Pricing, Reporting, and Client Onboarding, to develop and implement value-added and lean processing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to influence and work effectively within a team to optimize the billing process and ensure exceptional client service.

      A successful candidate will be a proven self-starter with an owner/operator mentality who must bring strong accountability, knowledge and detail-orientation to the organization. Ideal candidates demonstrate the ability to independently identify risk areas and streamline processes through improved controls and innovation.

      The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of the firm’s fees.

      • Maintain and manage the firm’s fee billing system (RevPort).

      • Propose and implement enhancements to the billing process to foster an improved operating environment by collaborating with internal and external resources to institute best practices.

      • Execute, validate, and post monthly accruals.

      • Ensure accounts are properly set up and documented with the appropriate fee schedules.

      • Conduct quality checks on calculated fees and invoices, resolving any discrepancies as needed.

      • Ensure timely delivery of fee billing files to external custodians and clients.

      • Reconcile fee receivable accounts, manage cash collection, and post payments.

      • Develop reports on current collection status, including outstanding fees.

      • Supply fee data to the accounting and finance department to reconcile the general ledger against RevPort.

      • Conduct team audits of policies and procedures.

      • Establish best practices for workflow and procedures.

      • Generate and implement solutions to improve workflows to enhance the client experience.

      • Liaise with IT regarding system performance and maintenance, senior management and other business units for informational and reporting needs, and software vendors for customizations, upgrades, and issue resolution.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 6 years of equivalent work experience.

      • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

      • Exceptional attention to detail, with the capability to multitask and work independently.

      • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and handle conflicting priorities efficiently.

      • Driven, flexible, and eager to take on new challenges.

      • Excellent decision-making and communication skills, both written and oral.

      • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to perform well under pressure.

      • Highly organized with strong analytical and client service skills.

      • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, utilize pivot tables, and generate CSV files.

      Desired Skills & Experience:

      • In-depth knowledge of management fee calculation methodologies and the ability to apply these principles accurately in various billing scenarios.

      • Experience working with international billing processes and workflows, including exposure to global custodians and currency conversions.

      • Experience with Advent (APX) accounting platform or RevPort software systems.

      Salary: $65-$70k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
