Job Description
- Req#: 2500
- Oversee the timely pick up and delivery of client shipments
- Maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deliveries are met based on the clients requested arrival date (RAD) or set appointment times.
- Update and provide tracking information to customers as well as to internal managers
- Communicate with carriers by phone call, e-mail or web site access in order to receive up-to-date shipment statuses
- Communicate with warehouse operations and customer service to obtain order status information and co-ordinate and prioritize shipments
- Suggest mode changes to the client for shipments that are in jeopardy of missing RAD
- Work with Transport administration to determine the cost impact of changing to an expedited mode
- Support the compilation of reporting and KPI information
- Some afternoon and weekend coverage may be required as backup / coverage of team members
- Completion of High School and preferably a College Diploma with at least two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 4 years experience working in an administrative and operational functions in a transportation role.

JOB SUMMARY
The Transportation Coordinator will work to arrange the pick-up and delivery of client orders for both inbound, outbound and point to point shipments. The Coordinator will arrange the transport of shipments potentially for multiple clients and will be working in a fast-paced environment, which includes daily scheduling and handling multiple shipments, communicating with various carriers and shipping/receiving locations.
