- Processing insurance claims in compliance with payer requirements and assisting patients with personal balances.
- Provides a variety of bookkeeping, record keeping, reconciliation and report production functions for the department.
- Administering patient financial policies and for assisting in the clerical functions of the department.

- Bad debt transactions to the patient accounting system.
- High school graduate or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in health care field such as billing/coding,
- Medical assistant or related experience.
- Knowledge and experience with medical terminology either through educational or work experiences.
- Data entry skills, strong math, accounting/bookkeeping skills and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and strong customer service skills required.
- Associate degree in healthcare billing and coding.
- One (1) year of healthcare billing experience.

This position is located on-site at the Durable Medical Equipment department. This position will work with customers, physicians, and other referral sources via phone, fax, email and in-person encounters, and will assist customers with education, training, and fitting (when necessary) for the product line. Customer Service responsibilities include processing referrals, hospital discharges, and face-to-face customer interaction, as well as familiarity with product and insurance regulations (private and Medicare/Medicaid).
