  Project Outline:

  Immunogenicity refers to an unwanted immune reaction that can impact pharmacokinetics, effectiveness, and safety of a drug/treatment. Thus, monitoring and understanding immunogenicity is crucial in ensuring that the potential immune responses are considered and managed appropriately to minimize adverse effects and optimize therapeutic outcomes during the drug development process.

  The goal of this project is design, develop, and optimize an immunogenicity assessment method to support the discovery and development of diverse biologic modalities, effectively trouble-shoot bioanalytical assay related issues, and to apply a new technology to meet the ever-changing needs of pre-clinical immunogenicity related projects.

  This is an onsite position. Various platform tools including but not limited to LBA, ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry, PCR, RT-PCR, etc. will be utilized. The intern will help develop, assess feasibility, and implement a platform for immunogenicity assessment. Training will be provided on a variety of techniques including cell-culture, cytokine and biomarker quantification, and other immunology related methods and data evaluation.

  • Experience with immunological assays, including flow cytometry, detection of antigen-specific cells, T cell-based functional assays, etc. can be helpful.

  • Prior experience with three-dimensional cell culture/ cell culture in microfluidic devices is a plus.

  Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.

  • Undergraduate, Graduate, PhD, MD student with completion of a minimum of one year of university studies.

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.

  The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
