Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical engineering or relevant subject area
Deep Understanding of chemistry and protein biochemistry
Hands-on experience in a chemical/biochemical/bioassay laboratory
Experience with GE AKTA system, Unicorn chromatography software
Experience of protein/bioconjugate analysis, characterisation by UV/Vis spectroscopy, size-exclusion/hydrophobic interaction/ion exchange chromatography, HPLC and LCMS
A track-record of protein modification/purification experience
Antibody-drug conjugates experience might be beneficial

We are looking for a Scientist within Bioscience who has an understanding of bioanalysis/bioscience procedures. You will be designing and conducting laboratory projects/experiments, developing methods, and generating, interpreting, and reporting scientific data. You will also be proficient in troubleshooting and theory.

What you’ll do
As a Bioconjugation Scientist, you will conduct routine drug discovery research experiments independently by applying the techniques of Bioconjugation of small molecules to antibodies and related scaffolds. You will work independently within a team and also with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient relay of information. You will maintain a well-developed understanding of approaches to Bioconjugation techniques, applying a broader functional knowledge to support the team. You will communicate results to team members and be involved in the interpretation of data in a clear and concise manner. You will regularly share relevant external published papers with peers and ensure your work, and the work of your peers, follows Safety, Health and Environment standards and all other relevant internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulations.
