What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Implement, execute, and document data analysis pipelines and workflows for clinical and research services
- Collaborate with the Pathology Bioinformatics Director and Assistant Director to integrate new technologies
- Evaluate new tools for sequencing data analysis and propose improvements
- Maintain NGS data warehouse ensuring compliance with clinical regulatory guidelines
- Communicate results through presentations and written reports at meetings and seminars
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in genomic science, related science, or computer science with strong academic performance
- Minimum of one year of bioinformatics experience
- Proficiency with multiple Next-Generation DNA Sequencing platforms and data outputs
- Experience with Unix/Linux/Python systems, including HPC environments
- Certified Molecular Biology (MB - ASCP) or Molecular Diagnostics Technologist (MDxT) required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience designing and implementing scalable computing and storage architecture for clinical and research sequencing
- Familiarity with various sequence analysis tools such as BWA, GATK, and Picard
- Knowledge of public genomics datasets and databases like 1000 Genomes and TCGA
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
