The Cordes Lab in the Department of Biology at Temple University is seeking a Research Assistant Professor who will be capable of contributing to multiple ongoing research projects. Potential projects include, but are not limited to, oceanographic characterization of deep-water habitats, GIS spatial analysis of species distribution data, marine invertebrate physiology, population and phylogenomics, and bioinformatics analysis of non-model organisms. Preference will be given to those applicants who possess a diverse set of skills and can contribute to more than one of these projects. The Research Assistant Professor will oversee and contribute to the overall organization of the laboratory including ordering of supplies, research accounting, and database maintenance. They will also participate in an average of one research cruise per year. It is anticipated that the Research Assistant Professor will develop their own independent research projects and write their own grants to support these projects. They may also teach one or more courses in the Department of Biology to broaden their training and to support their research. Perform other duties as assigned.
