      Position Overview

      United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Imaging Engineer III to support the maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex imaging systems, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiographic equipment. In this advanced-level role, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot system issues, ensure compliance with safety and performance standards, and collaborate with clinical and technical teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

      This position requires in-depth knowledge of imaging technologies, strong diagnostic and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Every scan, every system check, and every repair you complete contributes directly to timely and accurate diagnoses—because every connection you make truly matters.

      There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities.       Job Responsibilities

      • Coordinate imaging equipment projects by working with other departments and manufacturer representatives to minimize operational disruptions and ensure timely completion
      • Set up and conduct performance verification and routine safety testing on imaging systems, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and regulatory requirements
      • Perform troubleshooting and timely repairs on imaging equipment, identifying root causes to reduce equipment downtime and minimize reliance on external service contracts
      • Maintain and service imaging devices in assigned departments, collaborating with the team to ensure 100% of required imaging inspections are completed across all facilities by month’s end
      • Prioritize service tasks, including urgent repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance, and communicate status updates regularly to clinical departments
      • Participate in the on-call rotation by supporting on-call technicians and gaining hands-on experience, with the expectation of assuming full on-call duties within 18 months
      • Assist with the installation, testing, and implementation of hardware and software updates on both new and existing imaging equipment
      • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all equipment activities, including inspection results, service and repair reports, and equipment control records
      • Ensure all documentation and service practices comply with Joint Commission (JCAHO) and other regulatory standards
      • Support compliance efforts by maintaining detailed records that ensure traceability and accountability for equipment maintenance and inspections
      • Collaborate with engineering and clinical teams to support ongoing improvements in imaging equipment performance, safety, and reliability
      • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and advance professional development within the biomedical imaging engineering field

      Position Qualifications

      Minimum Required:

      • Associates Degree in technical/electronics field.
      • 6 years experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment with an additional 3 years experience as a biomed tech.

      Preferred:

      • 10-12 years experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment.


      License/Certification

      Minimum Required:

      • OEM Certification on a Radiology Modality.

      Preferred:

      • Two (2) to Four (4) OEM Certifications on Radiology Modalities.
