      Job summary

      The Wessex Genomics Laboratory Service (WGLS) has a new opportunity to join our cancer genomics team. For this role we are looking to appoint an ambitious individual to a permanent post as a Biomedical Scientist.

      The WGLS is a new integrated genomics testing service formed from the amalgamation of Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory (Salisbury) and UHS Molecular Pathology which is based at University Hospital Southampton. The combined WGLS is part of the Central and South Genomic Laboratory Hub. Employment will be with University Hospital Southampton and based at WGLS Salisbury, based within Salisbury District Hospital.

      What you'll do:To supervise/ undertake the processing of pathological specimens forscreening, diagnostic and monitoring purposes.To provide accurate, timely and appropriate analytical data.To deliver a high quality service that meets the needs of the patientsand service users.To manage training and education of all grades of staff within thesection.To liaise with other healthcare professionals to develop and maximisethe effectiveness of the service.
