      What You’ll Do

      What You’ll Do

      As a Blaster, you will conduct surface production blasting operations while adhering to Dyno Nobel and regulatory standards. The candidate will interface closely with the Mine Operations team to ensure safety and optimization of blasting operations. Other duties will include:

      • Performs assigned blasting activities.
      • Works as a job site blaster and receives direction from Site Operations Manager and/or Mine Drill & Blast Superintendent
      • Provides input on blast-related activities to aid direct supervisor in plans
      • Identifies blast site problems and resolves with Site Operations Manager and/or Mine Drill & Blast Superintendent, if necessary
      • Verifies that pre-blast inspections have been conducted prior to blasting
      • Understands and follows all Company safety policies and practices
      • Monitors the relationship between blast pattern and type of digging and reports results to Site Operations Manager or Mine Drill & Blast Superintendent
      • Documents use of explosives and completes required inventory paperwork
      • Is responsible for completing field accounting reports and required trip manifest forms as needed

      What We’re Looking For

      • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a blaster and hold active blasting license
      • Experience with electronic blasting systems and non-electric systems.
      • Experience with bulk emulsions, namely gassed products.
      • Experience of safety systems utilized during pumping of bulk products.
      • Ability to read, write, and speak English and to communicate in writing and verbally
      • Must have the ability to lift fifty pounds and to stand and walk for long periods of time
      • Must have the ability to drive a pick-up truck on a daily basis
      • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
