      Description

      1. Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c).

      2. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct.

      3. Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion.

      4. Periodic inspection of equipment to ensure proper efficient operations.

      5. Necessary adjustment of equipment for proper operation.

      6. Routine lubrication and cleaning of equipment.

      7. Routine maintenance of equipment and systems as required for operational performance and efficiency.

      8. Routine replacement and/or repair as required due to wear or damage to equipment or systems on a planned or emergency basis.

      9. Proper maintenance of records indicating procedural requirements are met.

      10.Gathering of necessary data for parts replacement and proper stock of needed parts.

      11. Necessary maintenance tasks as directed for operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.

      12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      QUALIFICATIONS :

      1. Three years of full-time satisfactory experience in the lubrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment; or

      2. One and one-half years of experience as described in “1” above plus graduation from an approved trade, technical, or vocational high school or completion of an approved internship program; or

      3. One year of experience as described in “1” above plus an associate degree from an accredited school in mechanical technology.
