      Job Description:

      The Boiler Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the boiler system. They will perform regular checks, maintenance, and monitoring of the boiler to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols. Their primary duties include checking the boiler water level, operating valves, starting, and stopping the boiler, monitoring pressure levels, and recording various readings at specified intervals. The Boiler Operator will work closely with the client to ensure proper steam release and coordinate shutdown procedures.

      Responsibilities:

      Check the boiler gauge glass level (boiler water level) regularly to ensure proper water level is maintained. Open the boiler inlet water valve to allow water flow into the boiler. Open the boiler inlet oil valve to allow the supply of fuel. Turn on the boiler main isolator to activate electrical power to the boiler system. Switch on the boiler panel burner switch to start the boiler. Monitor the boiler pressure and, after 45 minutes, check if the boiler pressure reaches 130 psi. If confirmed, coordinate with the PMD officer to release the steam. Record the readings every hour such as Steam pressure, Feed water reading in liters, Feed water temperature, Stack temperature, FFO (fuel oil) meter reading, FFO fuel liters, Steam flow meter reading, Steam flow out in KGS, Gauge glass level reading etc.

      Requirements:

      • Previous experience as a boiler operator or in a similar role.

      • Boiler class 1 certificate

      • Knowledge of boiler operations and safety protocols.

      • Familiarity with reading and interpreting gauge readings.

      • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

      • Strong attention to detail and ability to record accurate readings.

      • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.

      • Effective communication skills

      • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in a boiler room environment.
