- Perform clinical bone mineral measurements.

- Assist patient with disrobing and/or redressing
- Weight & height measures
- DXA scan(s)

- Clean equipment between patients
- Daily archiving of DXA scans
- Preparation for next day appointments
- Schedule review
- Import return patient scans
- Perform machine warm up, quality control scans and data analysis, each day before start of patient scanning.
- Assist with maintaining bone mineral measurement equipment and scanning locations.
- Maintain quality assurance records.
- Must be a graduate of an OBMI Board Approved Bone Densitometry Program with an Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) limited permit for Bone Density (LXMO) permanent license OR must have a Radiology license from OBMI.
- Experience working one-on-one with patients in a medical setting to perform radiography scans.
- Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication skills with patients, families, caregivers, colleagues, and the public/community
- Demonstrate interest for applying technology to enhance patient care
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of PCs, including MS Office Suite
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
- Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) limited permit for Bone Density (LXMO) permanent license, OR, must have Radiology license (R.T.) from OBMI
- Valid OHSU approved Basic Life Support CPR card
- Experience in bone density OR radiology imaging.
- Completion of Bone Density Technologist Training Certification Course.

Department Overview
As part of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Clinical Nutrition, Bone Density Unit, the Bone Density Technologist supports the Bone Densitometry clinical service by providing expertise in performing bone mineral measurements and scan analysis. The position works with pediatric, adult and geriatric patients of varying mobility. The Technologist optimizes the technique for each image during the examination to obtain the highest quality study with the most comfort to patients. The Technologist assists with maintaining bone mineral measurement equipment and supplies, maintaining quality assurance records, scanning interpretation reports into EpicCare, occasionally supporting the Bone and Mineral clinical research program and reporting external quality control facilities on behalf of clinical trial requirements.

Physical location changes throughout the day and week between sites on OHSU Waterfront and Marquam Hill campus. Tram travel is required.
