- Booking patient appointments following agreed procedures and protocols and ensuring patients are appropriately informed
- Arranging, rearranging or cancelling appointments in line with patient requests whilst ensuring Local and National policy's are followed
- Accurately recording appointment outcomes and other data relating to patients in a timely manner
- Ensure patients receive all relevant information in a timely, accurate and effective way
- Answering patient queries or escalating where required
- Providing administrative support to the Physiological Sciences team
- To prioritise own workload to ensure safe and effective running of the administrative needs of the department
- Book patients in line with the urgency of their appointment in line with Local and National booking rules
- Ensure patients receive the required notice of booking whilst ensuring maximum utilisation of available resource.
- To contact patients, gaining acceptance of booking with patient or their representative.
- To advise patients or their representative, either via telephone or face-to-face, within agreed protocols, of information relevant to their appointment or admission or other related non-clinical subject.
- To take appropriate action as required when answering patient queries, such as re-arranging appointment dates or escalating issues appropriately

- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

- NVQ2 or equivalent in relative subject, ie Customer Care Skills
- Knowledge of PAS
- European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Working with the public.
- Working within a health care environment
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to provide good customer care
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstration of Trust values and behaviours

Job summary
The Physiological Sciences team at ULHT is looking for a skilled and dynamic administrator to work in their busy Lincoln and Pilgrim offices where no two days are the same.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and administration skills with recent experience of working in a busy office environment. They will require skills relevant to administrative work in the NHS, and will work to ensure that our clinicians and patients are always supported with expert admin help.
