Job Description

- Works as cashier/clerk in the College bookstore
- Reconciles cash box and creates deposits for bookstore purchases
- Effectively merchandises the sales floor
- Oversees assigned areas of inventory and assists with orders
- Serves as an expert in required textbooks and supplies for each program
- Assists with incoming inventory counts and receiving
- Performs other related duties as required
- Graduation from High School or equivalent
- One (1) year of proven experience performing related duties in retail sales, cashiering, stocking, customer service
- One year of experience performing related duties
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of cash registers, inventory control, merchandising, stocking shelves, and customer service
- General office procedures and practices
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
- Some knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting; 10 key operation; basic mathematics; skill in typing and operation of various types of office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, students, and the public
- Ability to work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment
- Ability to deal effectively with stress caused by workload and time deadlines
- Occasional heavy lifting of up to 50lbs may be required
- Requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work various shifts as needed
***Need someone for the mid afternoon/evening shift***Serves as a cashier and sales associate while providing outstanding customer service, restocking and assisting in inventory management, becoming an expert in course materials, and helping with other bookstore projects.
