      The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Boys and Girls Club Program Aide, within the Charleston Club in the Potomac Division Charleston WV Area Command.

      POSITION SUMMARY

      Plans, implements, supervises members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education and Experience
      High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND previous work in related field with Children and Youth, preferred; Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan.


      License/Certification

      Valid State Driver’s License preferred. First Aid and C.P.R. Certification (or ability to obtain).


      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      Ability to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. Must enjoy working with children. Must possess good communication skills, an outgoing personality, and speak/write English fluently.


      Mental, Physical Abilities
      Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment. Required to grasp objects, push, and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat or kneel.

      Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities is required.


      Working Conditions
      Work is performed in a combination of office and field settings. Frequently required to sit and reach; and must be able to move around the work environment.


      The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

      Work will typically be indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office or location, with a mixture of natural, incandescent, and fluorescent light with moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions.


      Work may require performance of duties where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities is required.
