      Job Title: Driveline Warranty Support Engineer


      Job Description

      We are seeking a dedicated Driveline Warranty Support Engineer to lead and support high-time-in-service quality projects. This role involves utilizing DFSS and 8D processes to meet aggressive timelines regarding warranty spend and failure rate reduction targets.

      Responsibilities

      • Rapidly work through DFSS phases: Define, Characterize, Optimize, Verify including root cause identification and verification.
      • Evaluate high warranty spend/failure rate subsystems focusing on design-related issues or supplier quality or manufacturing defect-related issues.
      • Analyze warranty data/trends and part returns to identify root causes.
      • Identify and verify root causes and implement corrective actions (ICA/PCA) and prevent recurrence.
      • Design, execute or coordinate analytical and physical testing from component bench level to full powertrain/vehicle testing to identify root causes and replicate quality issues.
      • Communicate to senior management project status and results, interface regularly with quality and core engineers.
      • Develop relationships with dealerships and fleets to resolve quality issues quickly related to warranty and repairs.
      • Understand different types of repairs and set up work plans, follow-up, and aggressively move to reduce timelines to fix issues.
      • Lead or attend team meetings.
      • Document lessons learned for knowledge preservation.
      • Proactively follow through responsible activities along with required documentation to meet the milestones and deliverables.

      Essential Skills

      • Warranty and failure mode analysis.
      • Experience in resolving customer concerns and resolutions (problem-solving).
      • Automotive Powertrain experience/knowledge.
      • Project management skills.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • 5+ years of demonstrated automotive experience with a detail-oriented focus in Powertrain engineering, warranty, and manufacturing.
      • Experience working with warranty issues, failure mode analysis.
      • Experience in Driveline commodities.
      • Experience working in quality improvement projects using DFSS, 8D, or other Six Sigma processes.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for presentations and project tracking activities.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a relevant field.

      Work Environment

      The position involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment focused on quality improvement and warranty resolution. The role requires interaction with dealerships and fleets, and regular interface with quality and core engineers. The work entails both analytical and physical testing, utilizing advanced software tools to track and present project data. Dress code is business casual.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $43.00/hr.
