- Strategic Brand Development: Craft and execute long-term brand strategies that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the brand in the market and amongst competitors in the industry. This involves conducting thorough market research, identifying unique value propositions, and developing brand positioning statements for both client and talent acquisition.
- Creative Campaign Management: Oversee the implementation of innovative marketing campaigns that capture the essence of the brand and engage our audiences. This includes conceptualizing campaign themes, overseeing creative content production, and ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use firm Marketing Technology and other external sources to analyze market and industry trends, client and prospect behaviors, and campaign performance to make informed decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various functions of marketing, including design, communications, GTM and strategy. Work with other departments such as growth, service line, industry and market leaders, to ensure brand style/tone/voice consistency and alignment across all touchpoints.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including peers, clients, partners, community contacts, and vendors. This involves managing expectations, providing regular updates, and ensuring that all parties are aligned with the brand’s goals and objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the Whitley Penn brand, tone, voice and experience.
- Mentor the communications, events, and design functions of marketing and serve as a peer mentor to all marketing management as it relates to our brand. Identify untapped strategies to further differentiate the Whitley Penn brand in the marketplace and work with marketing management to prioritize and implement new ideas.

- Know and keep current on technical developments, and strategies adopted by the firm’s competition, and apply them to assignments as appropriate. Work with the marketing team to ensure all deliverables are consistent with the strategy and brand standards.
- Serve as a Brand Champion; Deliver highly polished, accurate and complete deliverables that are aligned with the firm's brand, image, and quality standards.
- Work with marketing team to improve the overall outputs of our product delivery.
- Provide insightful, and thorough recommendations to improve design, content, technical applications, functionality, and overall user experience to elevate efficacy, and results of our content, advertisements, webpages, event experiences, collateral, promotional items, and campaigns as a whole.
- Oversee events including, but not limited to seminars, webinars, conferences, meetings, client advisory groups and trade shows.
- Monitor and be prepared to report on the effectiveness of campaigns and events, including ROI.
- Keep pace with new branding and design trends, to include tone, voice, and nuance, as well as the brands of our competitors, and apply them to your feedback on team’s work product.
- Lead through effective problem solving and provide or collaborate on recommend solutions.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and research technical issues to ensure compliance with relevant rules, guidelines, and standards.
- Participate in the development of department goals, strategies, objectives, policies, procedures and systems. Develop and communicate targets and goals that align with firm/department strategies.
- Work with the Chief Marketing Officer and other marketing management to conduct and evaluate market and competitive research. Adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Embrace and encourage continual adoption by the marketing team of all Quality Control Practices of the Firm and the marketing team.
- Recommended 5+ years of marketing and communications experience, preferably with a professional services firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing, communications, graphic or web design or other related field.
- Proficiency in creating and editing various graphic design, web design, publishing, and multimedia software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design), Canva and Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Strong experience with various social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X is desired.
- Experience working with HubSpot, WordPress and/or Sharepoint is a plus.
- Knowledge of front-end design best practices is preferred along with basic understanding of HTML.
- Regular, physical, and predictable on-site job attendance a minimum of 3 days a week
- Flexibility to attend events off-site and may be asked to assist with marketing efforts of other office locations.
- Routine same-day travel for work to other offices, events, meetings, and seminars which requires use of a personal vehicle.
- Occasional out-of-town travel with overnight stay for work at events, meetings, or seminars.
- Additional hours as needed to meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Ability to lift or move up to 30 lbs.

Whitley Penn, a leading CPA and Consulting firm, is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager to join our team. The Brand Manager is responsible for oversight and execution of strategic marketing plans and campaigns, both active and evergreen, as put in place by the go-to-market and strategy arms of the marketing team. This role oversees the firm’s branding efforts, including creative design, event experiences, content, and communications. The Brand Marketing Manager will ensure that assets created by the Marketing team align with the firm’s brand standards/voice, and aims to improve brand awareness, employer branding, client retention, and client acquisition. Key responsibilities include managing the communications and design delivery teams, work closely with the go-to-market and strategy teams to ensure work is done to scope, and will work directly with marketing operations and marketing leadership to seek direction and assistance with continuous improvement and/or team training.
The ideal candidate is a deadline-driven, self-starter who can effectively serve professionals at all levels in a client-oriented environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
