      JOB OVERVIEW:
      Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of Operations and the assigned Checker Foremen/Clerk Operator, the Breakbulk Operator physically handles various types of breakbulk cargo and materials which support cargo handling and equipment. Operates a jockey truck, plus different types of forklifts and equipment as necessary in cargo handling. Work performance must meet a standard of quality that facilitates our service commitment to our customers.       JOB DUTIES:

      JOB REQUIREMENTS:
      Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
      The ability to handle all aspects of breakbulk cargo, as well as maintain a clean and orderly work area is required.Good physical condition with the ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.Must possess knowledge of the capabilities and capacities of equipment, or otherwise be open and capable of learning, and retaining, related detail.Must have good eye-hand-foot coordination.Must have the ability to follow instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks.Good vision is necessary and must have excellent peripheral and night vision, as well as depth perception, with the ability to distinguish colors.Good hearing is a must.Must be able to work in, and make work adjustments according to changes occurring in, weather conditions i.e., hot, cold, humid, wet, etc.Must be able to work in varying climatic and atmospheric conditions from minor to extreme.Must have the ability to communicate in writing and to accomplish tasks from either written or verbal instructions.Must be able to perform physical movements which are essential work activities such as bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and sitting.Must be able to work in various levels of noise, and vibrations, and in a warehouse environment with various commodities.Must be able to work shift work, holidays, overtime, and weekends.Must have the ability to be trained as new technology is introduced into the workplace.Must be able to interact, communicate and cooperate, effectively and professionally with others; including but not limited to immediate supervisor, management, coworkers, and customers.

      Experience
    • Employee will learn through on-the-job training and in-house courses in handling cargo, operation of equipment and safety Required
    • Heavy equipment operations experience Preferred

    • Education
    • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Licenses & Certifications
    • Possession of a valid CDL Preferred Upon Hire
    • TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire
    • Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
