      KVLY/KXJB, a #1 NBC/CBS/CW/MeTV/H&I/The365 powerhouse in booming Fargo, North Dakota is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable broadcast engineer to join our technical team. The Valley News Live Media Group is composed of market-leading digital and connected TV properties, KVLY (NBC), KXJB (CBS), The Fargo CW, MeTV, Heroes and Icons and The 365. Our coverage area stretches north and south from the Canadian border to the South Dakota line encompassing half of North Dakota and a third of Minnesota.

      Job Description/Summary:

      Successful candidate will join an experienced, veteran team of broadcast engineering professionals responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure of a TV station.

      Duties include installing and maintaining equipment specific to the television broadcasting industry, including transmitter/RF systems, satellite antennas, and various digital video and audio processing equipment. This is a “hands-on” job, applicants will use tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Additionally, this position will include performing some IT-related tasks. Job responsibilities are diverse and dynamic, qualified candidates should have a natural curiosity and interest in learning new skills. Opportunities for advancement to management exist for the right candidate.

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      - Prior technical experience in a broadcasting environment is ideal and highly desirable
      - Experience with repair/troubleshooting non-broadcast electronic equipment will also be considered
      - Applicants should be familiar with using a variety of hand tools
      - Electronic soldering skills are a plus. IT abilities are also a plus
      - The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is curious to learn a wide variety of technical skills
      - This is a full-time, on-site position with a rotating on-call schedule
      - A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is mandatory
      - Applicants should be capable of performing basic physical tasks involving bending/lifting, occasional travel, and working outdoors in a limited capacity under a variety of weather conditions
